This photo depicts pour / splash pattern that was noted on the floor of the kitchen of a single-family dwelling fire that occurred on June 9, 2003.
The dwelling was unoccupied and reported secured by the owner. Samples were recovered and the testing revealed the presence of gasoline.

This photo depicts surface of a carpet that was charred by a mirror magnifying and concentrating sunlight to the carpet. The elderly lady had set the magnifying makeup mirror on the floor near a window.
Randy Dunn stated that the reoccurrence of the sunbeam on the carpet caused the carpet to heat and produce smoke while taking the photo.
