The IAAI has developed and maintained the Certified Fire Investigator Program that has become the most recognized program, for Fire Investigators, in the world. Through the diligent efforts of the IAAI and the membership, the eligibility standards and criteria were set high and have remained that way, assuring the programs credibility.

The qualifications for the program include
Education, Experience, Testimony and Testing. 
The program is available to those fire investigators who strive to obtain a recognized certification that distinguishes career professionalism.  In addition to the high standards required to receive the certification the program requires re-certification every five years.  The emphasis on the re-certification is continuing education. As with all recognized professional certifications education is essential.
